Maureen and Patrick wed at Virtue Feed and Grain in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia. This couple was super laid back. And I mean laid back as in Maureen shopped for her flowers the morning of her wedding. After getting her flowers, the bride got ready at Hotel Indigo. First, the bride got her makeup done and put on her jewelry. Second, the bride’s nieces and nephew helped her get dressed in her wedding gown.
After getting ready at the Indigo Hotel, the groom and bride walked a few blocks to their Virtue Feed and Grain wedding ceremony. The venue is industrial looking with exposed brick walls and string lights hanging from the ceiling. The bride walked down the aisle by walking up the stairs. Then, family and friends gathered around for their ceremony, officiated by a family member.
First of all, after the ceremony, the bride and groom and I walked around Old Town to take portraits. Whether they were strolling under trees, smiling and laughing by an ivy covered wall, or dancing in front of a large black door, they had a blast!
After a short family photo session, everyone celebrated with dancing and wedding cupcakes! Furthermore, the couple cut a giant cupcake instead of a traditional wedding cake. The Maid of Honor gave a humorous toast. Also, the best man gave a touching toast, recounting the many times the groom has been there for him.
The bride and groom then had their first dance. Moreover, this first dance was really beautiful because it was full of emotion. Finally, the bride and groom danced Irish jigs with their guests. This Virtue Feed and Grain wedding was full of energy!
Congratulations Maureen and Patrick!
