What are your rates for wedding coverage?

Please contact me to receive detailed pricing information. I am typically quick to respond.

Do you travel / charge travel fees?

There are no travel charges for weddings within 100 miles of Ellicott City, Maryland. If your wedding is outside that area, please inquire for travel fees.

While most weddings I photograph take place in D.C., Virginia, and Maryland, I would be happy to travel for your wedding! In the past, I have shot weddings as far away from me as New York, San Diego, and Miami. I also love to provide wedding photography for cities in the D.C. metro area, including Baltimore, Marriottsville, Charlottesville, Culpeper, Leesburg, and Arlington.

How do we book you for our wedding?

Booking is super simple! First, contact me for pricing and availability.

Second, let’s set up a time to meet in person, Skype, or chat on the phone to make sure all your questions are answered and that we are a good match. I frequently meet clients in Arlington, Virginia; Baltimore, and D.C.

Third, I will send you a link to your client portal page, which will contain an agreement and link to pay your deposit. A 50% deposit and signed contract are required to book your wedding date. Once that is all taken care of, you are booked!

Do you work with a second photographer?

Yes! I always work with a second shooter, unless you are having a court house wedding or other intimate wedding with relatively few guests. Having a second shooter allows multiple angles of the same event or multiple simultaneous events to be captured.

How many photos can we expect to receive?

Although the number of photos delivered is highly dependent on the event, I can assure you that you will have more than enough photos to tell the story of your day! Typically, a full day wedding (8 hours) yields about 600-800 edited photos.

How long does it take you to edit wedding photos?

In my agreement, it states that your images may take up to ten weeks to be delivered. However, I am usually much faster than that and usually edit and deliver wedding photos in four to six weeks.

How are images delivered?

For every wedding, I deliver edited, high resolution digital images (JPEGS) without watermarks on a flash drive and through an online gallery.

While I keep the copyright to the images, I do grant a non-exclusive license for you to print your photos.  You will be able to order prints and albums directly from me or through another printer of your choice.

What happens to the copyright of the images?

What is your availability for an Engagement Session?

I am booking engagement sessions for July 2018 and beyond. Unfortunately, as of February 2018, I do not have any availability this spring for engagement shoots. If you would like to book for July 2018 or later, please reach out!

When should we schedule our Engagement Session?

It is always better to get on my calendar sooner rather than later because dates, especially weekends, fill up.

As for the actual date on which you should have your session, consider the following. If you are going to use your engagement photos in your Save The Date stationery, then you will want to have your session seven to nine months before your wedding. It may take up to two weeks for me to edit your engagement photos, and then it can take a week or two to get your Save The Date cards printed, so please factor those times into your scheduling calculus.

If you are not using the photos for your Save The Date, then feel free to have your engagement session anytime!

Can you suggest locations for an engagement session?

Yes! Please let me know what kind of photos you are looking for (for example, outdoorsy or urban) and I would be happy to suggest some places! Other good locations may include your own home, the site of your first date, or the place where you got engaged.

What Should we wear for our engagement session?

I recommend wearing something well-tailored that makes you feel great! Solid, bright or pastel colors or large, simple prints work well. I personally would stay away from black or overly dark pieces. Some clients rent pieces from

What should we do to prepare for our engagement session?
Here are some suggestions for engagement session preparation:
— Your hands and your fiance’s hands will be in the photos, so you may both want to get manicures.
— Make sure you eat a good lunch or breakfast. Photos are not fun when you are hungry.
— You may want to bring blotting papers or tissues.
— You may want to get your makeup professionally done.
— You may wish to bring a change of clothes. A lot of couples choose to bring one formal look and one casual look.
— You should both wear something that fits you well. If you have to tug it, pull it, or otherwise adjust it to make it look good on you, chances are it will not photograph well.

How would you describe your photographic style?

Candid. Emotional. Timeless.

I use a mixture of photographic styles. My primary approach involves a photojournalistic / candid approach (capturing real, unscripted, unprompted moments). I also capture some editorial images (magazine style where I will move objects and position you to give a clean, aesthetically pleasing picture), and portraiture (posed wedding portraits). I generally try to be as unobtrusive as possible and have been complimented for my discreet approach.
